The Kansas Horseshoe Pitchers Association (KHPA) is a Charter member of the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association (NHPA). Our goal is to introduce the organized sport of horseshoe pitching to Kansas residents and communities where it is only thought to be a game played at family reunions as well as company and church picnics.
The KHPA has an active membership of 170 adults and 16 juniors ranging in age from 6 to 93. As a NHPA – KHPA card holder you can participate in sanctioned events not only in Kansas, where we will have 43 sanctioned tournaments in 2012, but also any state Charter in the US and Canada. The advantage to pitching in NHPA sanctioned events is that participants are seeded into very competitive round robin classes by their ringer average. Sanctioned events can only be held on Sanctioned courts that meet all of the specifications set forth by the NHPA for a sanctioned court facility. There are presently nine of these facilities in Kansas.
